Welcome to beautiful Whangaroa County. A singular and beautifully romantic place. Nau mai haere mai

Rere Bay and Lane Cove looking down the Western Arm of Whangaroa Harbour

Matauri Bay and Cavalli Islands

Whangaroa.......a location on the eastern coast of Northland, .....where there is so much to do and where it’s just as easy to do nothing but soak up the beauty and tranquillity.... an area of exquisite natural beauty and friendly people.... a place of contrasts, where the pace of life is exhilarating or completely relaxing.... a location where choice is abundant.... where subtropical days reluctantly fade to balmy nights.... where native forest and fertile green farmland border sparkling blue coastal waters.

Whangaroa ......From Puketi to the Pacific Coast and from the Bays of Taemaro and Waimahana to Takou Bay, Whangaroa is surely Natures own coast. Unique, unspoilt, rural New Zealand.

It's a natural zone of  bush and beach, where it's still possible to find a quiet uncrowded bay to soak up the ambience and spend the day fishing, diving, surfing or just reading in the shade of a Pohutukawa.

The scenic drive from Whitehills to Matauri Bay, Te Ngaere, Wainui and Tauranga Bayhas some of the most pleasing coastal scenery in the country. All the beaches have public access. The hills are richly clothed in bush.

Visit the historical fishing villges of Totara North and Whangaroa and enjoy the living ambience of past times .

Take the route to Taupo Bay, Northland's best East Coast swimming and surf beach, or be overawed by the immense kauri trees of Puketi Forest.

When you want to stock up on supplies, Kaeo has it all. Petrol, a supermarket and drapery, second hand and arts & and crafts outlets. The museum is well worth a visit for heritage displays and artefacts or enjoy a coffee or takeaways at one of the food outlets.

If you are searching for that something natural and different, you can't go past Whangaroa. It's Nature's own coast.
